District Literacy Coach
Crystal Kennedy, an avid advocate for both teachers and students, has had a career in education spanning over 20 years. After graduating from Bennett College with her degree in Elementary Education, she began her teaching career in Houston ISD. After 13 years as a classroom teacher, she moved on to become a Teacher Development Specialist in which she served for 6 years before moving on to her present role.  Currently, she is a District Literacy Coach in Aldine ISD also located in Houston, Texas. The past 8 years have involved her working to coach and develop teachers in growing their instructional capacity with a focus on literacy and developing these skills in students. Crystal also holds a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and is an aspiring administrator looking forward to completing her certification requirements later this year. In her personal life, Crystal enjoys spending time with her husband of 19 years, their two sons, and family. Along with this, she also enjoys event planning, reading, and traveling.
