Program Director for Secondary Special Education

Brittany Edwards, has a Bachelor’s Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a minor in Special Education from Sam Houston State University and a Master’s Degree from Sam Houston State University in Special Education. She completed the Diagnostician Program from Sam Houston State University, the Principal Certification Program from Lamar University, and received both certifications. She has over 12 years of experience as an educator in Aldine ISD. Her view on literacy metamorphosed once she became a high school special education teacher. Her views continued to deepen once she became an educational diagnostician. As a diagnostician, she diagnosed specific learning disabilities in the areas of reading and writing. Brittany is currently a Special Education Program Director in Aldine ISD. She supports all high schools and transition programs. She is passionate about creating choices and opportunities for all students through high quality instruction, collaboration with educators, and ensuring equitable opportunities for all students.
